June arrives softly at Poggio, carrying with it the first true feeling of summer.

The garden changes almost overnight.
Wild daisies begin to cover the grass in white and pale pink,
deep red tulips rise quietly between the green,
while bright calendula flowers open slowly beneath the warm Tuscan sun.

The first figs appear on the branches,
poppies move gently in the wind,
and every corner of the garden feels alive with colour, perfume and light.

In the early morning, the air is still fresh and filled with the scent of herbs and flowers.
By afternoon, the garden becomes warmer, slower, filled with the sound of insects, distant voices and long shadows moving across the paths.

At Poggio, this is the season where life returns outdoors.

Windows remain open until late evening,
tables slowly reappear beneath the trees,
and the garden once again becomes part of everyday life —
something to walk through barefoot,
to gather from by hand,
to smell, touch and live beside.

Flowers begin to enter the kitchen alongside the herbs.
Calendula, wild blooms and aromatic leaves become part of the rhythm of the table,
while Michele moves through the garden searching for inspiration among colours, scents and the first ingredients of the season.

There is something deeply gentle about June here.
Nothing feels rushed.
The land opens slowly, generously,
offering its first fruits, its flowers and its quiet beauty day after day.

At Poggio, summer always begins from the earth.
